IMPORTANT CONSIDERATIONS WHEN BOOKING A HOTEL
About Nationality Restrictions:
Please be aware that it is the policy of some hotels in certain countries (eg UAE, Egypt, Tunisia, Morocco, and Turkey) not to allow nationals of those countries to book for some of the special rates they offer, so if you or any or other member of the guest's party holds a passport issued by one of these countries please pay special attention to the special conditions displayed in step 2 of the booking process under 'show more details' (in the left side navigation on page 2 of the booking process). If unsure, please contact our customer support and we will advise on the eligibility or search an alternative rate with no restrictions. If you are a resident of any of these countries, and if the hotel policy does not allow nationals to book for the selected fare, you should always travel with your passport which is not the same as your country of residence.
BEST PRICE NOT FOUND?
If you cannot find a better price on our service, please contact our customer support. We have an additional 1,4 million hotels available in "offline search" and may be able to beat the best price elsewhere despite the rate not being available in our online search.
About taxes and fees, resort fees and tourist taxes.
Generally, our rates include all taxes and fees (VAT, service fees, etc), but exclude tourist taxes (e.g. UAE tourist dirham fee currently set at 20 AED/night in 5* hotels or Rome city tax 4€ per night etc). Not all destinations charge a tourist fee, but some examples are UAE, Rome, Spanish Costa Brava & Barcelona region.
If unsure about the tourist fee, assume it is not included. Sometimes the exact amount of the tourist fee is mentioned in the hotel specific conditions displayed in step 2 of the booking process (see example here, in which the UAE tourist dirham fee is mentioned 2.31 € (10 AED). Tourist fees are always excluded, even if they are not mentioned in the 'more detailed section"
Hotel resort fees - a more problematic 'hidden fee' are hotel resort fees. These are specially common in the U.S. If a resort fee is to be added to the total cost and paid directly to the hotel, it is mentioned in the special conditions in step 2 of the booking process.
